I recently spoke with a New York City artist who asked me why she needed a Website—what it would do for her. I asked how many gallery shows she did you year, how many pieces were shown, and how many pieces she has in total. She said that she had shown about 30 of her most recent works, at two shows. This artist needs a Website because I can’t see her work, and I probably never would otherwise. It seems almost a moral obligation to make every effort to give the world a chance to see your work.
